Spiritual Narrations New 19

He stood in the middle of the street and said: " Come, you all come, that I am going to give you the best of me."

The days passed, one, two, and many more, but nobody came near him. And he kept shouting louder and louder, day and night . " Come you all to me, to give you the best of me."

Some persons approached him, after some days and said: " Do you have money." He answered: "No." " Do you have jewels? " "No" he said. "Then, why do you call us?" "I called you to give you the best of me" he answered. Then, they hit him, spat at him and they left him in very bad shape. A few poor miserable people came and told him: " What do you have to give us?"

"I have the best of me to give you" he answered. They made fun of him and went away, and with a great difficulty and almost, babbling, he said:
" Come you all, to give you the best of me." Then, a madman came and said:
" Good, give me the best of you."

The madman, came near, embraced him and said: "I did the same that you are doing and the whole world rejected me, because the world did not want to know about me; then, they mistreated and threw me out and that is why they call me crazy.

But now that I have found you, that I know that is not madness and even if it was, then is the greatest madness, the most genuine, the most sincere, and the most perfect way of loving.

Everybody looks for passing values and despises what is sincere but I am going to give you, the same that you want to give me."

He, then helped him to stand up and they walked out of the town. The time passed and a flood came and destroyed everything and nobody was left alive. But these two were living in the mountain and they survived.

The time kept on passing and new people came to the town, they had better hearts and when somebody had a problem, they would say: " There, in that mountain, live two distinguished wise men, who have surrendered their lives to Wisdom."

And the story goes that, the town kept progressing forever.
