THE TWIN BROTHERS
The history of humanity has always had
two worlds set in opposition and here we are
going to explain a little, in order to
understand the differences and wondering if
there will be a conciliation some day.
These twin brothers were born with a big
difference between them, not in appearance
but in their behavior.
One of them was, dynamic, active, coherent, consistent, always positive in front of any situation. His face would express happiness; he had plans, goals and projects. But his brother, was the opposite. He also had the same appearance but he had a grumpy, negative attitude; and for him, everything was a waste of time. Always criticizing everything and saying aloud . " I think that negativity is the best attitude since I will never have surprises and will never be prey of a vain illusion. I prefer to be as I am, entirely, absolutely and always negative. But something interesting existed in the two brothers, so interesting that it was making them special, although terribly irreconcilable in their way of thinking. There was no doubt that they loved and respected each other. They were clear and direct and would say: " We have a similar appearance, we profess love, fraternity, loyalty and great affection. But is important to say that our destiny cannot be similar, since we are completely different because we have different motivation. We are positive and negative. There cannot be conciliation." They grew and became men and by fate of destiny, both left the town saying good-bye with great affection and attention, recognizing their great difference and condition. Life kept taking turns and each brother ended being the adviser of opposite kingdoms and as a coincidence of destiny, a war was established and both brothers were giving advice to their kings. The time passed and they both kept working and advising their kings. This was a long war with many losses on both sides, to the point that they both were exhausted but the advisors kept working since they were loyal to their kings. The condition was such, that the kings understood that the conflict had turned from political and territorial into a personal war; both sides decided to send important gentlemen and the coincidence was such that the kings chose the most dedicated gentlemen. And one kingdom presented the positive brother and the other, the negative one. Thus, in the battle arena, using strong armors, they could not distinguish each other and the battle began. Both were very knowledgeable with the arms and, oh destiny! Each brother wounded his enemy with the sword; both were hit and felt to the ground, dying. When they removed their helmets, they recognized each other and on seen the inflicted wounds, they looked each other and grieved. They set the arms aside and told their kingdoms: " This has been a cruel destiny that made us confront the differences. If we had used our intelligence, we would have balanced our destinies, taking from both sides and not taking opposite extremes." On saying this, the blood of their wounds united and the ground seemed to listen to their gesture. Both kings -filled with horror- understood, that the great differences are always going to end in death and desolation. Finally, they both died because of losing so much blood, but their embrace was such that they could not be separated. They built a monument in that place and from that moment, both kings had peace. A long time passed and when some problem would arise, they remembered the brothers who left a great example with their death and they taught: " Brother, I am different from you. You are different from me. But let's not make a battle out of this. Let's not shed innocent blood. I will try to understand you; I ask you to be patient and to try to put yourself in my place." And it happened that both sides of the conflict would go to the monument, where the grave was and they would place an offering of incense and flowers. They understood that peace happens when the differences are understood and respected and that the force of Love prevails above everything. There is an epitaph on the grave saying: " Two beloved brothers are buried here, who as the rose and the thorn lived, but who became as the rose and its perfume when dying, leaving behind the differences. They taught us that we must never carry things to extremes but rather that we must understand and respect each other." |
